In 2017, because of the dramatic increase of threats to the creative and global humanity I choose to believe in, I now include quotations that intend to creatively challenge forces I find destructive. These quotes are meant to arm you with awareness and thinking to continue being your best artist in challenging times”
My Artist Blog is found here: Moorezart.Wordpress.com
Art of Quotation is my library of thoughts from artists great and little known, past and present.
My purpose is to inspire, challenge, provoke and question just what art is, why we make it, how we make it and just what it means to be an artist.
You may not agree with all the thoughts that are shared here and I welcome all comments. Of course these quotations are colored with the era and context of the artist I am quoting. I choose each quote based on some truth I believe will be of interest to you in the here and now as you journey down your own path to becoming an artist.
When possible the images accompanying each quotation are either by the artist or of the artist. The images are used here with the intention of falling under the fair use doctrine:

Douglas or is it Galen Rowell, perhaps I got mixed up, so please do help me if I presented your blog wrongly on my Lifestyle magazine From Guestwriters. You are always welcome to correct what I got wrong or let me know more to add in the presentation.

Hello Marcus and thanks for contacting me. I was unable to find the reference to one of my posts on your blog. May need some guidance from you as to where to look. My name is Douglas and on my blog moorezart.wordpress.com I share both my own art – painting and photography AND I also share interesting posts about other artists who paint and do photography. Galen is a photographer who died several years ago and who focused on large scale and dramatic landscapes around the world. I have twice shared his comments and most recently a quote and photo from him (reblogged from my quotation blog called “artofquotation.wordpress.com). I think this is the one you are referring to. I hope that clears up any confusion for you. Best regards, Douglas

Dear Moorezerart, I came across your blog totally by accident – but reading your post is a blessing, absolutely wonderful. There are so many website with quotes out there – but none is so beautifully structured – and organised in a way that everybody can pick up something that could become the quote of the day, something like a ‘right quote at the right time’.And an inspiring quote could be better than a cup of coffee – as it speaks straight to the heart. I am a blogger myself (bigarttheory.com)and must say that connecting with creative souls like yours is the greatest gifts of all. Looking forward to read more of your posts in the near future.
