Quite a provocative question. I’m reminded of the Trojan War. How, nine years into the whole scrimmage, nearly a decade of petty clashing and lashing words, Helen, Paris, the whole origin of the thing, fell completely by the wayside, as the war began focusing more upon the Gods themselves, and their soldiers, than the actual politics or origin of this mess,
Was it worth it in the end? As both sides essentially lost every element of their pride? As both lost, brutally to the night.
This is lost often the case, or so it seems, in war. Great or small, external or psychological. It all ends in mess and tragedy. No winners,

Nicholas, being always inspired by visiting your blog this is especially nice to hear from you. You’ve powerfully put the cost of any and all wars on the table. Being a member of the same choir I’ve no fault with one word and remain dumbfounded that the memory of this lesson eludes each new generation.
