I’ve sometimes wondered if this sense of being less apt with words than images is what the saying “bete comme un peintre”/stupid as a painter is about.
Beth, most interesting thought. I’ve puzzled for many a year about the connection between the visual and the verbal. Society in general did not seem acutely interested in what artists had to say, verbally that is, until the current time when a fine magnifying glass examines and interviews and seeks explanations. I for one find the two quite separate – making art and then talking about it. In fact I cannot reconcile same to any degree of comfort! So nice to hear from you.
